Saya dan Generali

My name is Jaka, currently serving as Head of Talent and People Development of Generali Indonesia.

Well, let's start with I'm not used to write some sort of "review " of the place i am working on (or worked at) whatsoever, however it change now.

On my 13 years of career across many industries (government, private education, and insurances) i have to state Generali Indonesia has been giving me the fuel and chances of me being me by better me. And i know i am not writing it just because i received a lot, but more than that because i FEEL it inside me.
Among many things, let's just write one thing. I am always dreaming of seeing places, walking through the exotic places, seeing people on different races, tribes, languages, and customs. Voila! GI gave me a chance to see the Blue Continent last year. Not only that... My leader endorse me to take my wife along... to Venice! Imagine how i broke the news to my spouse back then? Something i wanna cherish everytime. Yes i have to pay for her fees and so, but still... how many companies allows (read:endorse) you to do so?

In short, we have the travel worth of memories of our marriage and at the same time business was wonderfully done. Ok, i thought that was just because i had some achievements prior to the travel, and mostly because of my relatively senior grade. Wait... That's not it. Generali has the values of "Value our People" which means that they will take care of all their people ESPECIALLY those with particular performance.
So when i see my leader again endorsing staff level to expand their experience by having trip overseas by their own money, i understand that the company is leveraging them with higher exposure beyond their understanding (and even beyond their pocket :-)) through a real practice. Seeing the disbelief of the staff when they being told they CAN and MUST proceed, made them worked hard to make the trip came true. And they did. As the result, not only they gained valuable lessons but also setting higher target on going another overseas trip this year. Amazing how empowerment came to real practice.

So again, in my case...
Yes I'm forever grateful of having the trip to Europe with my love of a lifetime, but also I'm grateful on the lesson Generali (and particularly my leader) taught me.
